PENSACOLA, Fla. (October 3, 2017) – The Pensacola Ice Flyers have announced today that Head Coach Jeff Bes has signed rookie forward Robert Lepine for the 2017-18 season.
“The signing of Robert gives our team another playmaker that is going to compete every night on the ice,” stated Bes. “He is a strong centerman and a consistent scorer who will provide us the depth we need.”
“Pensacola has a reputation in professional hockey as a phenomenal place to be a hockey player, said Lepine. “I am looking forward to getting on the ice as I have heard many great things about the city, the organization, and the Ice Flyers fans.”
The 6’1”, 190-lb forward is a native of Killaloe, Ontario, and spent his college career with the University of Guelph. He had season-highs his senior year, playing in 27 games where he netted 15 goals and added 16 assists, totaling 31 points for the season. Throughout college, he played in 59 games, scoring 24 goals and 24 assists for a total of 48 points. After his senior season, he played three games with the Elmira Jackals of the ECHL.
“Pensacola has a long tradition of winning and producing quality hockey players,” concluded Lepine. “With that being said, I am extremely excited to arrive and get the season started.”
