PENSACOLA, Fla. (January 9, 2018) – The Ice Flyers fell to the Bulls 4-3 in Birmingham Tuesday night. This is the first loss in regulation in 15 games by Pensacola, with the last loss coming on November 24. Nathan Bruyere scored two goals for Pensacola, with Charlie Adams adding the third. Alexander Taulien scored two goals for Birmingham. Myles McCauley and Steven Phee added the other Bulls goal.
Defenseman Nathan Bruyere gave the Ice Flyers the first goal of the night under 4 minutes into the game. He followed that up with a power play goal to end the first period. Josh Cousineau assisted on both goals, with Matt Johnson assisting on the first and Charlie Adams on the second.
Alexander Taulien scored 1:27 into the second, assisted by Andy Bathgate and Taylor Dickin. Myles McCauley quickly tied the game two minutes later with assists from Evan Schultz and Shane Topf.
Alexander Taulien took the lead for the Bulls with a power play goal 3:34 into the third. He was assisted by Myle McCauley and Taylor Dickin. Steven Phee, assisted by Graham Yeo, added another goal late in the third for the Bulls. Charlie Adams of the Ice Flyers answered back a little over a minute later with a goal assisted by Ken Neil and Garrett Milan, but it was not enough. The Ice Flyers fell 4-3.
The Ice Flyers outshot the Bulls 47-26.
The Ice Flyers next home game will be on Friday, January 12, against the Birmingham Bulls. It’s Friends and Family Night at The Hangar.
