The Pensacola Ice Flyers (8-11-5) fell to the Fayetteville FireAntz (13-10-1) by a score of 3-0 on Saturday night inside the Pensacola Bay Center.
After Nathan Bruyere turned the puck over deep in the Ice Flyers’ defensive zone, Graeme Strukoff scooped up the puck and fed it over to Joe Kalisz who put it in the net just 4:05 into the game.
After a scoreless second, Fayetteville extended their lead to 2-0 when Jake Hauswirth scored a power play goal with 9:50 left in the third. Bobby Chaumont scored an empty netter with 1:42 left to put the final nail into the coffin and secure the 3-0 Fayetteville win.
John McLean stopped 25 of the 27 shots Fayetteville threw his way. His record now stands at 3-3-0.
The Ice Flyers will conclude their weekend tomorrow as they head to Columbus, Ga. to face the Columbus Cottonmouths at 3:00 p.m. Central Time. Fans interested in watching the game can do so at SPHLLive.com.
